2004 CSWA-S

Summer Institute

 Held August 21, 2004

Though the official title of this year’s Summer Institute was “Marital Therapy: Working with Couples,” the underlying theme and not-so-hidden agenda was “Food for the Mind, Body and Spirit.”

Steve Fishack LCSW presented ably on the official topic of the Institute and the discussion among Institute participants enhanced the experience for everyone. Our minds were well fed.

The assembled multitude was responsible for the presentation of the underlying theme - the feeding of the body and spirit – and we attained this goal with ease.  The group received extra credit for excellence in consumption and conversation.

Two types of CEU’s were awarded.  CSWAS offered 3 Continuing Education Units and the attendees awarded themselves Cooking & Eating Units.

Aftercare plans call for a follow-up visit next year.  Boo Hornstein prepared his fabulous boiled shrimp but noted a bit of performance anxiety since he has done so well for so many years in a row.  The plan calls for exposure therapy for the next five sessions in order to reduce this anxiety. A group format is recommended.

Many thanks to all who made this Summer Institute a memorable one.
